Malaysia has announced the cancellation of 3 Megaprojects, the High Speed Rail (HSR), the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), and the Mass Rapid Transit 3 (MRT3) before placing them “under review”. We examine what would happen to the economy if they are cancelled. Would the dreaded “R” period be triggered? If so, how deep would it go?
