Description

Malaysia faces the threat of a “white hair tsunami” as many workers hurtle towards retirement with little or no money left in their retirement accounts, typically in the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). The old safety net of familial support has eroded significantly with the advent of nuclear families. Calls have become louder to fix the national retirement system, and this is our take on it, following the world’s most admired system whose own path was eerily similar to Malaysia’s.
