Description
US President Trump’s tariffs onslaught onto the rest of the world had a very unsettling element: reciprocal tariffs, in which the US raises extra tariffs towards countries on a unilateral basis. These tariffs are not uniform but seems to be tinged with a form of dislike onto separate nations. The more another country is disliked by the US, the higher the reciprocal tariffs. Unfortunately, when countries meet the US to moderate this reciprocal tariffs, further conditions are imposed. Indeed, for Malaysia, when the US published the details of the reciprocal trade deal (Malaysia still has not made it public), it was obvious that the US also sought to make Malaysia a subjugated pawn of the US’ own policies. Malaysia still has yet to ratify the deal, and here we present the case why it should not be ratified.
